Head of Care

Currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the role of Responsible Individual/Head of Care for our children’s care homes in Bury, Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our homes provide high-quality care and support to children and young people who require residential care.

Key Responsibilities:

* Act as the Head of Care for the company, ensuring that all homes meet all regulatory requirements and that the welfare of the children and young people is safeguarded at all times

* Provide strong leadership and management to the staff team, ensuring that they are supported and motivated to deliver the highest standards of care.

* Ensure inspection readiness to achieve Outstanding grades for all.

* Care Quality Assurance.

* Prepare Ofsted registrations.

* Facilitate and write the Statements of Purpose.

* Liaise with Local Authority commissioners / respond to framework tenders.

* Write policies and procedures.

* Recruit new Registered Managers.

Key Requirements:

* Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care, Children and Young People’s Services

* Extensive experience working in a senior management role within a residential children’s care setting

* A thorough understanding of the regulatory framework and requirements for children’s homes in England

* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team of staff

* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with external stakeholders and young people

* Strong financial management skills.

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Registered Manager

We are looking for a Registered Manager to lead and manage a 3 bed EBD home for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties. As a Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the home, providing a high standard of care to children and young people, and ensuring that the home meets all regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and management to the care team, including recruiting, training and supervising staff.

• Ensure that the home provides a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people, and that their needs are met in line with their care plans.

• Ensure that the home operates within regulatory requirements and in accordance with policies and procedures.

• Develop positive relationships with external agencies, such as social services and the Care Quality Commission.

• Manage the financial and administrative aspects of the home, including budgets, reports and records.

• Implement quality assurance processes to continuously improve the standards of care provided.

• Ensure that staff are trained and equipped to handle challenging behaviour, and that they have the necessary skills to support children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Requirements:

• Relevant experience working in a children’s residential setting, including management experience.

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

• Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and young people, staff and external agencies.

• Good organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage budgets and maintain accurate records.

• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent (or be willing to work towards).

Care Worker

• Attend to the personal needs of the service user in line with agreed care plans, including helping service users to achieve objectives for themselves.
• NVQ level 2 in Care (or commitment to achieve).
• Communicate effectively, clearly and appropriately both verbally and in writing.
• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
• Salary is based on £12 per hour.
